Cheyenne's Journey of Courage and Hope
Cheyenne is a bright and resilient ten-year-old oncology patient. Initially treated and showing signs of recovery, Cheyenne’s family was devastated when she relapsed in 2020. This time, the challenge was even greater—not just because of the return of her illness, but because her treatment coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Cheyenne resumed her treatment, her family faced an overwhelming combination of medical and financial burdens. Her mother, a dedicated manicurist, was forced to close her business due to pandemic restrictions. At the same time, her father’s job was severely affected, drastically reducing the family’s income. With both parents struggling to make ends meet, essential household expenses became nearly impossible to manage.
This is where The Big Z Foundation stepped in. Understanding the urgent need to relieve the financial strain on Cheyenne’s family, we provided a grant to cover their mortgage for a month, ensuring they could keep a roof over their heads during this incredibly difficult time. Additionally, we provided a check to help offset other essential expenses, giving Cheyenne’s parents one less thing to worry about so they could focus on what truly mattered: supporting their daughter through her treatment.
Thanks to the support of our generous donors, The Big Z Foundation was able to make a meaningful impact on Cheyenne's journey, allowing her family to concentrate on her care and well-being rather than financial stress.
Cheyenne’s story is a powerful reminder of why our mission is so vital. With your help, we can continue to provide essential support to families like Cheyenne’s, ensuring they have the resources they need to navigate the toughest moments of their lives.
