The Big Z Foundation
The Big Z Foundation is a filed and approved 501c3 corporation established in 2018 in memory of Zach Hoefler who died from a brain tumor (pilocytic astrocytoma). In their journey with Zach at Dallas Children’s Medical Center, the Hoefler family witnessed an incredible need for the assistance of families with children diagnosed with serious pediatric illnesses. It is important for families to feel loved and supported during this difficult time. It is from that vision that the Big Z Foundation was created.
The Foundation is a unique nonprofit organization as it has a large, immediate, and direct impact on families. Money is used to assist families in their time of need so they can focus on caring for their children. Grants may be given to assist with items such as rent/mortgage payments, medical claims assistance, and essential household expenses. Many families struggle or just get by financially in good times. To be able to assist them in their time of crisis is a tremendous gift.
What We Do
The Big Z Foundation will provide financial assistance to families who have children diagnosed with pediatric illness.
Assistance can take many forms as the essential household needs may vary from family to family. Assistance may include, but is not limited to, rent/mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, medical claims cost, travel, and hotel accommodations to be near their child.
We have a vision of families being supported in the most difficult of times, providing a community of caring to allow families to focus on what is truly important: their families.
